Leg 2: Central America.
Mid January, 2024 to May, 2024.
Running for mental health.
"A decade ago, JMK reached Tuxtla Gutierrez, thinking he’d conquered the world. Fast forward a decade, a gnarly snowboarding accident left him with lingering spinal pain but 100% recoverd leg. Despite this, and a laundry list of other health issues including severe sleep apnea, recurrent major depression disorder, and random allergic reactions, He is ready to hit the road again. After a failed attempt at the Tuktoyaktuk to Teslin leg and a significant life change, He is turning his focus to Central America. Join him on this next adventure as he navigate the challenges of long-distance running and modern life."
JMK is aiming to cover a whopping 2,380 km in just 90 days, averaging about 40 km a day. He’ll be running and rolling through the heart of Central America, from the charming colonial city of San Cristobal de las Casas in Mexico to the vibrant capital of Panama City. This adventure will take me through Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica, as I follow the winding path of the Pan-American Highway across the Panama Canal ending this leg in Panama City. Wish him luck (and maybe a strong back and knees)!
